Devenish Railway Hotel - a classic country pub
Established in 1884, this beautiful double brick country pub is inextricably linked with the history of the district, from early settlement and the railway station to the fortunes of the once mighty Devenish Barbers Football Netball Club.
Lovingly restored and improved over 19 years of current ownership, the pub features an updated U-shaped timber bar with exposed red bricks and an open fireplace, new floor coverings and updated lighting. Adjacent is the Cafe nook, serving expresso coffee and baked delights to travellers and locals. Accross the hall is a stunning light filled dining lounge with exposed brick walls, revealing some of the rich history and layout of the hotel. There's four seat intimate nook and a 10 seat private dining room.
The Devenish Railway Hotel is operating six days a week (closed on Wednesday), servicing the local township, farming community and a growing number of visitors to the Silo Art Trail. The licence redline is an estimated 735m², taking in a shady back lawn and the front verandah. Accommodation development opportinities include the large rear yard for cabins or RV parking and two cottage style rooms to renovate, subject to council approval.
Charm, appeal, history, opportunity and lifestyle are all on offer for the next owner. An inspection will impress.
